Okay church. Let us all turn to the book of Cardilations...chapter 2, verse 5. If you got it, say “amen.” If you don’t, say “hold on pastor.”
And it reads, "Thou shall never let the enemy stop you from praying, slaying and getting to thy bag.” Now let the church say “amen!”
Last Friday, our good sis Cardi B finally dropped her highly anticipated debut album, Invasion of Privacy. I remember listening to it that morning in the car, and in the midst of being super hype, I began to feel extremely inspired by a lot of her lyrics. Ever since I was introduced to Cardi B through Love & Hip Hop, I knew that her name was going to be one that I would hear everywhere. She was unapologetically Belcalis Almanzar – bold, sassy and HILARIOUS!
We’ve all watched her go from a “regular degular shmegular” girl from The Bronx to a superstar that is signing deals and making money moves (and is STILL staying true to her “regular degular shmegular” self). So when her album dropped and I saw how well it was received by just about everyone on my Twitter feed, I felt like a proud distant cousin that was literally witnessing the evolution of Cardi B.
Invasion of Privacy made me feel as if I wanted to dance, cry, go out for a girl’s night so we can slay…basically, all of the above at the same time! As I listened to the album over again, I noticed how motivated I felt afterward. Her words inspired me to keep working hard for everything that I’m pursuing. She spoke to the little girl that’s inside of me that still doubts herself and worries about her future. I often find myself distracted and discouraged whenever life throws me a curveball, but Cardi taught me that even if life knocks me down 9 times, I need to “get up 10.”
I knew that I wasn’t the only one who felt inspired by the album, so I wanted to check in and see how my social media followers felt about it.
Here’s what they had to say:

I guess it’s safe to say that Cardi B brought the word on Invasion of Privacy! I’m so thankful that she laid her truth out on this album because she sparked something within a lot of us that we needed to push through. I’m now inspired to not only maximize my full potential despite what life throws my way but to also walk in my purpose fearlessly.
“I was in the field, man, I slaved for this. Had to talk to God, dropped down, and prayed for this. To my surprise, He replied, said,'You made for this.'” -Cardi B
