What's Next?

Ever felt like giving up? If you haven't, then you must not be human! I'm in a period in my life where giving up just seems like the easier option, but I know it will only break me if I do. I'm pretty sure we all can relate to that feeling. You may find yourself asking, "What's next God? What do I do?"

I am learning that reaching God's ultimate plan will take us through obstacle after obstacle just to see what the plan will be. Your money may be low...your job may be getting more difficult...your relationships may be deteriorating...your life may seem to have no purpose...BUT it's all a part of the process. Trusting the process is never easy. Like I've said before, you have to go through something to get to something, and that something is the destiny God has for you. Have you ever felt like the more you pray, the more you fast and the more you simply live your life for God, the worst things get? It's not that God doesn't see our spiritual growth, it's actually that he's aiding with our growth by testing our faith. James 1:2-4 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." I read this scripture every night now to remind  myself that the road to spiritual growth is a hard one to travel. Things sometimes seem like it just cannot be God doing His work. You start thinking, "how is God good all the time when I'm dealing with X Y and Z?" Trust me, I've had the same thought. However, after reading and studying His promises, I am now seeing that He IS good ALL THE TIME. He never gives us more than we can bear and when times are hard, He is strengthening us. We just have to renew our faith in Him.

One harsh reality that I had to process was that no matter what we overcome, there will be another test that follows to strengthen us even more. Why is it a constant cycle of tests? Well, we can't go to heaven if we're unprepared can we?  I don't thing so! He has to mold and shape us right here on earth before we are ready to carry out our heavenly duties. If we give up just because the tests are too hard, then how are we going to reach heaven? We can't! Bottom line, don't give up on God! He won't give up on you. Not knowing what lies ahead in our lives causes us to get weary and makes us feel hopeless; BUT as the old song says, "run on and see what the end's gone be!"
